All aspects of treatment, including the fact that you are even a client, are confidential.
There are a few potential exceptions to this, however, and we can discuss these initially by phone or at our first meeting.
Other than in these very few, rare cases, the therapist is NOT free to discuss your treatment in any circumstance, unless
you have requested I do so and I have obtained your signed consent.
New clients
can leave messages on my voice mail, 919.816.0009, at any time and I will generally get back with you within 24 hours,
and can offer a first meeting typically within a few days. If needed, an initial phone consultation can help determine whether
the client-therapist match is likely to be a good one. Referrals to other local therapists, who may be better suited to the
client's needs, are available.
If you have concerns or questions about your health insurance coverage or reimbursements,
you may contact Amy Palmieri by phone at 919.359.2425 or by email at amy@medicalbillingrx.com.
- WHEN WILL MY APPOINTMENTS BE?
Typically, clients are seen on a weekly basis, for a 50-55 minute
appointment. Couples sessions run 60-70 minutes. I am not on a pager and not set up to offer crisis intervention, but I am
available by phone for brief consults between appointments, for established clients, at no additional charge.
- WHAT
IF I NEED AN ANTIDEPRESSANT OR SOME OTHER DRUG?
When the use of medication is a possibility, I may refer you to
a psychiatrist who evaluates the need for such and prescribes and monitors medications. In such situations,
with your permission, the psychiatrist
and I will stay in close communication to ensure your treatment is well-coordinated.
